About a year or two ago, I bought the domain gumptown.com and ran a site for local entertainment that didn’t last very long. Now, I’ve decided to bring it back but with the focus on a lifestyle site for young adults in Montgomery. So far I’ve enlisted the help of Chris Smith. So yesterday I get a text from Peter from Faith telling me I’m about to get a call from Mehring. Knowing that the Vans team is on tour and doing a signing in Birmingham on Friday, I knew what this meant. So Jonathan (Mehring) calls and we make plans to meet at their hotel, where I met Jonathan, Johnny Layton, Van Wastell, Joe (filmer) and Jamie (manager). So after watching the last 8 seconds of the NBA game that was on, Scott and I head out with the guys in their tour van. First skate spot we hit was the AUM street gap… Johnny got a sick gap to manual on it.

I was hired to take some photos yesterday for a friend proposing to his girlfriend, now fiance! It was an amazing view over Birmingham, and the weather cleared up just in time for an amazing sunset. Today was a good day.

I worked on a site layout, skated a little bit, and I checked my grades for the semester and came out better than I expected. As for the photo above, it’s my cats hunting a mouse that I saw a few days ago climbing in the tree outside my window. Tomorrow I’m meeting with Jason about the site we’re working on, hopefully it goes well.

Nothing really exciting happened today, so I thought I’d give a pitch for Twitter, a micro-blogging site that I’ve recently come to love.

Simplicity has played an important role in Twitter’s success. People are eager to connect with other people and Twitter makes that simple. Twitter asks one question, “What are you doing?” Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web.

Similar to the status feature of facebook, twitter keeps it simple. You keep your friends updated and see what they’re doing, and the sms texting feature is really cool and easy to use.

breakfast for dinner

10pm on a thursday night… and I was making toaster strudels. Today was the first full day of my summer vacation; which means I watched tv, played on the internet, and skated until the weather broke. We had some really heavy rain and winds, in my area there were downed trees but thankfully everything’s good here at my house.

Last night I met with Jason to discuss our plans for a new site… I don’t think we’re ready to give any details except for the name:

As for what I’m up to right now, I’m sitting in the parking lot near Panera Bread using their free wifi. I got lunch from Arby’s then drove here to jump on their wifi while I wait for 1:30 to roll around for my last exam. Once i’m done with my exam, it’s officially summer for me, and I’m gonna head to Jason’s to do some more brainstorming for our site, then tonight some friends are gonna show up to have a game night for my birthday celebration… so I think today’s gonna be a good day.

Mosquitoes are coming out

Today was a very uneventful day for me. I browsed around looking at some great looking sites for inspiration for a site design I’m working on, and managed to figure out how to pass through the whole day without putting on shoes. I did shoot some photos in my yard for in case I ever need some stock looking flowers and leaves and whatever, and I came out with this photo that I actually like. While I was outside shooting, I was bit by several mosquitoes, which pretty well signifies the beginning of my summer…

My Birthday

Today is my 19th birthday… so even though I’d never want to, I could legally buy cigarettes in Alabama. I don’t have anything really planned for my birthday, my mom got me a cake, I might skate, and I’ll probably meet with Jayfo.

I started this site as my personal blog, since my site (steezed.com) is more of a community site than a personal site. I want to keep my friends and family up to date on my latest projects and what I’m doing.
